The design of the CAP™ allows it to be added to existing
plants to treat odors, stack gases, tank vent emissions, smoke,
and heavy metals. It is also used with Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE)
and similar applications. Because of its compact size, the CAP can
be attached in a series to increase the destruction capacity of
the system.
The CAP biological cleaning system is an excellent alternative
to activated carbon because there are no filters to replace.
Operating costs are much lower because the system is compact and
easy to maintain. In addition, the CAP is very effective at
destroying polar compounds which are not treated by activated
carbon.
Because CAPs operate at low temperature and low pressure, the
energy requirements are also low. This is in direct contrast to
high temperature systems, such as catalytic oxidatoin and thermal
oxidation.
Odor Control
Odor control is a major problem for industry and the consumer.
Some processes mask odors, others reduce odors. SRE's CAP destroys
odors at the source. Lower your costs and increase your community
approval rating.
MTBE
SRE's CAP can treat MTBE in both air and water. Concern about
MTBE is increasing as it is found in leaking underground storage
tanks, fuel lines, fueling stations, and in wells throughout the
U.S. One treatment for remediating leaking underground storage
tanks is called Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE). CAPs can be added to
SVE systems to destroy MTBE, BTX and other hydrocarbons. Depending
on permitting and emission requirements, use of the CAP can
eliminate or reduce the recurring costs associated with carbon and
the high energy costs associated with catalytic oxidation.
